My name is Dr Marjory Brewster, a lecturer in the Division of Business Enterprise and Management at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, Scotland. The aim of this research is to gain an understanding of Highland Games in Scotland, who they appeal to, and what it is specifically about Highland Games that draws locals, visitors and tourists to these events in Scotland. Generally, Scottish Highland Games are considered to be community events, are significant to the host communities, and yet, also have global appeal.
The criteria for completing this survey is to be a minimum of 16 years old, and if you agree to take part in this survey it should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete and all respondents will remain anonymous.
The researcher is not aware of any risks associated with taking part in this survey, you do not have to answer any questions that you do not want to and you are free to withdraw from the survey at any time. Furthermore you are not required to provide reasons for not answering questions or withdrawing from the survey and it is unlikely there will be any apparent benefit to you now, or in the future, for taking part in this survey.
